Oh wow. That’s so cool. I… um, well I can channel. So like… dead people take over my body now and then…
No way—that’s pretty sick.

She seems like it. So uh… if you don’t mind me asking, what is it you can… um… do? I mean, this is a school for mutants right? I honestly don’t know a lot about… that sort of thing…
Me? Oh, not a problem—I can manipulate electricity. What about you?

Yeah, I’m not sure if ‘cool’ is the word I’d use. But no worries.
Oh are you talking about Rose? I met her, she seems really nice.
Yeah, the one and only Rose! She’s pretty great.

Ah. I miss swimming. I haven’t really been in a long time. Since I… well, since I stopped being able to see. Honestly I haven’t tried since then. The idea kind of scared me.
Oh, you’re blind? …I was just about to say ‘cool’, but that’s probably not the right way of going about that. But I guess I can see your concern with the swimming bit. That’d freak me out, too.

Well. I know someone who’s blind, too. She goes here.
It’s Aiden. So what’s there to do around here? At least, that doesn’t involve television or… or books and stuff?
Nice ta meet ya.

Er, well. There’s a pool, and… the training rooms, and… well, there used to be classes for a while, but haven’t been any since these idiots came to visit.
Yeah it’s been… interesting to say the least. I… um I’m sorry, I missed your name?
Ryder—yours?

Kind of. I’ve been here a few weeks but I’ve pretty much just been hiding.
Oh, have ya? Sorry you have to be here like this though—kind of sucks with all the soldiers and the like.

…You new?

“You… you don’t?” Carlton asked, grinning widely as he turned to face Ryder. “But how could you have liked it? It was beyond cliche, everyone and their dog reads Shakespeare,” he added, scooting closer to the crack in the door just as the younger man reached up and grabbed his shirt. “But if dead poets are what get you going, who am I to deny you?”
He chuckled before threading his fingers into the hairs on the back of Ryder’s neck and pulling them closer together so their foreheads touched. He’d missed this, being able to touch whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. ”So Ryder. Will you take me back?” Carlton whispered before slotting their mouths together and kissing the other man back gently. There was no comparison, no one was as exasperating and exhilarating at the same time as Ryder.
Ryder chuckled. “Oh, believe me it was cheesy as hell and you definitely need to work on your poem choice in regards to context, but yes, I liked it.” Ryder patted his hand on the other man’s chest once or twice and grinned wryly.
“Ohhhh, perhaps if you cook me breakfast and read me poetry whenever I want, perhaps.” Ryder chuckled against the other’s lips and tilted his head slightly. “Now, you do anything stupid again and I’ll fry you till next Monday, got it?”
And really, don’t mention it. I know what it feels like, having headaches that fierce. It’s such a pain in the ass.
Yeah, you too.
Eurgh, yeah, I normally don’t get headaches this nasty.
